Introduction
The Amritsar Central Cooperative Bank Ltd., Amritsar was established and registered on 14.7.1922 having 57 Branches (including one extension counter) in the district under Cooperative Bank Society Act 1912 with an area of operation Amritsar-I, Amritsar-II, Ajnala, and Baba Bakala Tehsil.
In the Cooperative banking structure, the position of the Amritsar Central Coop Bank is extremely important as a whole short term credit system revolves around it. The bank aims at sound banking practices and observe strict financial discipline. The Amritsar Central Cooperative Bank is financing the farmers through PACS at the village Level. From a farmer, artisan to traders/businessman, everybody has been covered in the fold of this institution.
Objectives
- To serve as a Balancing Center for Cooperative Societies in the State of Punjab registered under the Punjab Cooperative Societies Act, 1961 for the time being in force.
- To promote the economic interest of the member banks and cooperative societies in the state in accordance with cooperative principles and to facilitate the development and funding of any cooperative society registered under the said act.
- To carry on banking and credit business.
